A set of 2 Dogon mask. One in wood and one in bronze. The Dogon have existed since the 15th century till now in Mali, West Africa. As one of very few their culture was kept alive and still trives today. Among other things they are known for their exquisite craftmenship in close relation to the surrounding nature. These masksare most likely early 20th century and belonged to the private collection of Claude Harrel (1932-2016) who was the French ambassador in Senegal between 1983 and 1986.
