TRESTLE TOTEM

We made this large trestle side table from a 19th century Ethiopian Kato Sergo totem slab. This organic monolithic slab of indigineous hardwood (cedar variant) was made by the ethnic tribe Gorague´ of South West Ethiopia. Also called a sleep protector, the different carved ridges are intended to evacuate the bad vibes out of the home. The smoke of the the fireplace is channeled by the ridges of the surrounding Kato Sergo's to the top housing and beyond. It is placed upon (removable) custom trestles in remilled black burned 18th century oak. 230 l x 54 d x 75 h PC 8000
