Great original trestle table from the Pyrinee region. Also know as mountain tables the trestle type is one of the oldest table forms. In medieval times people used to put loose tops on trestles so it could be easily moved depending on the situation or in war times put in the next castle. This construction type is still being used today as it's sturdy and esthetic with lots of leg room. This particular one has great proportions with a beautiful patina. The two plank top was made from the same tree and sits perfectly on the organic trestle base. This table dates back to the late 18th or early 19th century and was most likely made by a farmer in the winter.
