19th century primitive bolection bluestone fireplace

A unusual French Normandy mantlepiece probably from the 19th century. Made in a purified Louis XIV style with perfect proportions. This piece most likely was used in a kitchen because of the remnants of iron attachments to lock kitchenware/grates on. Dimension details can be found in the photographs. Please note that this mantelpiece can be easily integrated as it stands on its own. Also the front is slightly elevated so the outer rim could be plastered if desired. Overall in great condition with a gorgeous pale grey color and patina. The simplified esthetics give it a timeless feel with a lot of soul... 165 x 121 x 17 Ref. 8502
